Freedom Works

Welcome to Freedom Works!

We are an inner city youth organization established in the fall of 1999. Our primary focus is the housing developments east of downtown Kansas City. We seek to train future leaders through nurturing relationships with neighborhood youth. Our ministry includes Friday night activities, tutoring, mentoring, summer camps, and sports. Central message: Good work ethic produces freedom.

Mission & Vision:

Freedom Works is an urban organization dedicated to the advancement of urban youth in the inner city of Kansas City.  Our mission is to raise up leadership to guide the community economically, socially, and ethically.  Freedom Works is committed to long-term strategic relationships, education, and mentoring that enables urban youth to become tomorrow’s leaders. The youth who have grown up with the organization are becoming the leaders of Freedom Works.  Our vision is to see numerous indigenous leaders raised up to lead this community and beyond this geographical setting.

We Reach Out To:

Children at risk, 90% without fathers, and living on welfare as sole source of income. Our focus is primarily the neighborhoods in and around the low income federal housing developments just east of downtown Kansas City. We are reaching about 400 children consistently, estimated to be about 30% of the youth in the immediate area.
